Transport

Upon arrival in Warsaw

There is a direct public bus connection from the airport to the city centre - bus number 175. The bus ticket is 4.40 PLN (single ticket) and can be bought either at the bus, at a ticket machine next to the bus stop or through an app. It takes around 30 minutes to get from the airport to the centre. You need to get off at the 14th bus stop which is called "Dworzec Centralny" (Central Railway Station). It is located next to the Marriott Hotel. Take the underground pass to get to the Station's hall. It's quite clearly marked and both the bus and the station have information in English. Check info on public transport.

For taxis in Warsaw we recommend Globcab Taxi. It is possible to pay by credit card in iTaxi.

Transport to Lublin from Warsaw city centre by train

Check Intercity option. The ticket is approximately 30 - 40 PLN (about 10 EURO) and can be bought and paid for online. The journey is approximately 3 - 3.5 hours. However, there is a risk of delays due to construction works at the railways.

Transport to Lublin from Warsaw city centre by bus

Check Contus bus. The website is in Polish only, but KUP BILET section is pretty self-explanatory. The ticket from the city centre is 30 pln. This company also runs from Warsaw Okęcie airport and Warsaw Modlin airport. Other option is Flixbus, departure point in Warsaw and prices may vary.

Upon arrival in Lublin

Buses and trains arrive in different locations in the city. You might use public transport. You can also buy bus tickets through their app or taxis.

You can use Ale Taxi in Lublin. They speak English and it is possible to pay by cards. You can also use iTaxi Lublin.

Events and places to see in Lublin

On March 31st you can catch a concert "Mickiewicz - Stasiuk - Haydamaky" in the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures: joint forces of a leading Polish poet, Andrzej Stasiuk and the Ukrainian band Haydamaky present material based on the works of the Polish national poet Adam Mickiewicz. Numerous leading Polish singers will be guests of the concert.

On April 3rd you can catch a concert by Sophie Zelmani, Swedish singer at Teatr Stary in Lublin.

Things to see in Lublin:

The Old Town - different in form as compared to other Polish cities; one of the few that has not been destroyed largely during WWII; higlights of the Old Town: Ku Farze Street, The Dominican Church and Monastery; little alleys of the Old Town.

The Holy Trinity Chapel at the Lublin Castle - unique  Rutheno-Byzantine paintings placed inside to decorate its interiors upon an order issued by King Władysław Jagiełło in the 1st half of the 15th century.

State Museum Majdanek - former Nazi Concentration Camp; the best preserved place of the kind in Poland with historical buildings directly related to the mass extermination of people; second biggest camp in Poland during WWII; now within the city limits.

The Jewish trail through the City Centre and the Old Town.
